Valerie Williams

I have always been interested in embroidery, dressmaking and costume. I worked and trained as a textile teacher for many years before completing City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 in Creative Embroidery. I like to create surfaces using layers of fabric embellished with hand and machine embroidery. These often incorporate a 3-D element to help create texture and depth. Our current theme Face to face has inspired me to look at face profiles and to explore their landscape qualities.
